So, if you're looking for ideas for things to do in Amsterdam, we got you. Here are some of our favourite date night ideas to make memories with your (future) significant other during winter.

1. Wine tapping

This is the perfect place to warm up with a glass of red in the winter months. Rayleigh & Ramsay is a wine bar where you can tap and taste your own wines! You tap the wines by the sip (25 ml), half glass (75 ml) or whole glass (150 ml). Getting hungry? Rayleigh & Ramsay is open for drinks and dinner daily and for lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And with three locations - Oostpoort, Van Wou & Westerpark - there is always one nearby. Cheers!

2. Active date nights

Grab your partner and enjoy a fun night at a café with a Bocce Ball courts (like Vergulden Eenhoorn in summer or Mooie Boules) or go to a fun arcade, like Ton Ton Club in Westerpark or Blast Galaxy in Amsterdam-Noord where you can play all kinds of games. Or what about "Glow in the dark mini-golf" at Powerzone? Another popular active date night idea is going to a Ping Pong café!

3. Truffle tasting

Do you lovebirds love truffles? Make sure to head over to the Truffle Boutique on the Overtoom; a 1920s art deco restaurant where everything is made of truffles. You can try all the delicious truffle delicacies and truffle dishes on the menu from Tuesday to Sunday. Enjoy the food during brunch, lunch and dinner – or bring it with you at home. And yes, there is an outdoor terrace!

4. Go to a cabaret show

Going to a cabaret show is always a great idee. Even if your date doesn't turn out to be the love of your life, you still had a great night. Toomler is a popular establishment (check out the famous Comedytrain), but you can also go to Comedy Café, Boom Chicago or the Kleine Komedie.

5. Bar du Champagne

"The one thing in Amsterdam that was still missing" - according to the Amsterdam newspaper Het Parool. At Bar Du Champagne, located in the heart of Amsterdam, you drink the most delicious bubbles with small dishes and bar bites. Unfortunately, you can't make reservations here, but feel free to walk in. The best spot? Grab a chair at the bar to have a kitchen view.

6. Skating

Perfect for breaking the ice: go for some ice skating! In Amsterdam, you can skate outdoors at Museumplein and Rembrandtplein. On some days, they even have a silent disco and mulled wine.

7. Strolling around

 8. Hortus Botanicus

The Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. Over 4,000 species of plants from all over the world grow in gardens and greenhouses. Museums don't have to be boring, and art dates can be fun. Look at The Night Watch together at the Rijksmuseum, stroll through the Van Gogh Museum or enjoy the latest exhibition at Foam.
