As temperature drops and leaves fall from the trees, we long for cosy evenings with hot chocolate and a steaming portion of rendang (or a delicious pan of cheese fondue). So, where in Amsterdam can you find the best heated terraces? We created the list you need for the cold seasons! These Amsterdam hotspots will keep you warm and dry all year round:

Louie Louie is located opposite the Tropenmuseum. Here you can relax on the terrace on a chilly day. And the menu? Heavenly. How about 'Cauliflower nuggets', 'Tuna Tataki' and 'Portobello Baos'? All highly recommended. And those 'Sweet potato fries'? Delicious.

2. Bar Botanique

Welcome to the living room of Amsterdam-Oost. At Bar Botanique, you can sit outside on the heated terrace. The menu includes focaccia with pulled jackfruit - a dish you must taste before leaving. And for all you salsa dancing lovers, Bar Botanique regularly hosts salsa classes!

3. Clos

Definitely one of our favourite wine bars in Amsterdam-Oost. So feel free to take a seat on the heated terrace for a glass of wine. Not the biggest fan of wine? Opposite Clos, you will find La Cerveceria - another word for beer café - where you can enjoy beer, tapas, sangria and paella.

4. Brasserie Vessel

At Brasserie Vessel, you get not only a lovely heated terrace, but you also can enjoy a beautiful view over the IJ river! And the menu? Full of the most delicious bites! 5. Biertuin West (Beer Garden West)

Heated terraces allow you to enjoy the outdoors all year round in Amsterdam. One perfect spot is in the middle of the Mercator neighbourhood. Biertuin West has 20 beers on tap and 90 bottled and canned beers. A great place for a night out with friends. Pssst: they also have a branch in Amsterdam-Oost and the city centre.

6. Oeuf

This terrace is a great spot to settle down on a crispy autumn afternoon: Oeuf. As the name suggests, they serve all kinds of dishes with eggs. From juicy burgers and tasty sandwiches to 'Croque monsieur'. Oeuf is located in the cosy neighbourhood 'De Pijp', and the terrace has plenty of heaters.

7. Marathonweg

At Bar Marathonweg (located on Marathonweg), you can quietly enjoy a coffee and lunch and then linger for a glass of wine and tasty bites. It's a great place for drinks with friends, a first date or a spontaneous dinner with colleagues. We’ll see you there!

8. Bar Bonnie

A cosy place in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid (near the Vondelpark) for drinks. Bar Bonnie's terrace is sheltered and warm under the heaters. You can also have breakfast in the early hours (although we prefer a draught beer and nachos at Bonnie's).
