TREK Amsterdam

What: The TREK Festival in The Netherlands is a free summer festival held in eight cities (yes – Amsterdam is one of them!) and is centred around the best food trucks from local business owners. The word ‘trek’ in Dutch means ‘appetite’, and that’s exactly what you get as soon as you enter the festival grounds! Besides food, drinks and snacks from a dozen stalls, there is also live music, theatre and cabaret for you to enjoy. For a small amount, you get a special glass at the entrance, made of environment-friendly plastic, that will be rinsed and re-used every time you top up your drink at one of the stalls.
Where: Amstelpark
When: June 30 – July 2 (2023)
Access: Free
All ins & outs: Check this website for more info.

De Parade Amsterdam

What: Fair enough, ‘De Parade’ is officially not a food festival. It’s a travelling theatre festival that hits the five largest cities in the Netherlands: Eindhoven, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Amsterdam. The Parade brings a splash of wild culture, transforming their parks into passages lined with colourful carnival tents, entertaining acts, silent disco, eateries, lots of wines, happiness and a carousel.
Where: Martin Luther Kingpark
When: August 18 / September 3 (2023)
Access: Free entrance for kids younger than 11 years old. €2.50 for kids aged 12-17 if you enter before 22:00 (after 20:00 the entrance fee is €8.50). For everyone older than 18,  entrance fee is €8.50 (except if you enter before 15:00, then your ticket costs €2.50.)
